Fourth edition of Berebianco, the event dedicated to the world of important Italian white wines, those that like to rest a causa di the bottle for a long time and then present themselves as particularly inviting. Acceso May 23rd at the Grand Palatino a causa di Rome, a stone’s throw from the Roman Intervista, wines from wineries from the most suitable areas of the country, from the Aosta Valley to Sicily, will be acceso display for an unmissable event that will showcase a palette of different identities that compose a multicolored picture second to none.
A reality, that of whites suitable for ageing, which has not yet become commonplace a causa di Italy and even less so abroad. Berebianco was created to give voice to this growing trend, a causa di order to create awareness among consumers of the values a causa di the field, but also to strengthen it among professionals, from the winemaker to the sommelier, up to the restaurateur.
“Italy has historically always given more importance to red wines both a causa di terms of quality and quantity produced – states Francesco D’Agostino, director of Cucina & Vini and creator of the event -. From the point of view of volumes this tradition was interrupted a causa di 2011, when the production of white exceeded red (total production of 40.6 million hectolitres, white 20.4 and red 20.2 – Istat ). The fork, then, is always grown, up to eight and a half million hectoliters a causa di 2024 to the detriment of reds. The whites obviously contain the leading sparkling wines, but the figure for reds also includes pink wines. Con this context, Berebianco presents itself as a stage for those white productions that padrino a causa di quality with the best expressions a causa di the world, a championship a causa di which Italy has always struggled to compete because it is more focused acceso ready-to-drink products”.
Berebianco talks about Italian white wines that convince a few seasons after the harvest and can excite even when tasted after many years. To give voice to the emotional moment of each wine there will be five masterclasses dedicated to great vintages, where you can experience how much our lands and our producers can tell.
An interesting novelty of this edition of Berebianco is the establishment of a competition a causa di which the participating producers were invited to send one of their white wines chosen between the vintage acceso the market and the four previous ones. During the event, the best wines will be rewarded, tasted blind and selected by the Berebianco tasting panel.
Obviously there will be voto negativo shortage of pairing with food; this year, a causa di fact, Berebianco’s gastronomic offering will be curated by Sfornaio with its hot , stuffed with the best Italian cured meats.
