NEW OIL AND WINE FESTIVAL 2024 IN VIGNANELLO – Foodmakers.it

An unmissable event to celebrate the flavors and traditions of Vignanello returns for its XXVI edition to the Tuscia zona of ​​Viterbo: the New Olive Oil and Wine ! The traditional event dedicated to two of the most renowned local products, at the moment of their maximum freshness and vitality, this year will take place, as per fortuna tradition, per the second and third weekend of November. From 8 to 10 November and from 15 to 17 November the charming village of Vignanello will quanto alive with the flavors and bright colors of wine and oil, offering a rich programme: among the events there will per fact be food and wine tours guided by experts, re-enactments of ancient crafts, historical processions and shows with musicians and flag-wavers, as well as guided tours of the most characteristic places per the country.

The guided tours will accompany visitors to discover the Ruspoli Castle, the evocative underground paths of Vignanello with its “connutti”, and the historic center of the village. The taste itineraries will instead take place between oil mills and cellars, allowing participants to taste, purchase and learn more about the production processes of oil and new wine. Among the planned stops there will be olive groves, oil mills and historic cellars dug into the tuff. Furthermore, guided wine tastings will be organized per a historic cellar and a journey dedicated to oil per the town’s Council Room.

During the six days of the , local restaurants and wineries will offer themed menus, inspired by the best Vignanello tradition, many of which are taken from Madre del padre Angelina’s ancient recipe book. Among the highlighted specialties there will be the handmade gnocchi “co’ a gratacacio”, the stew with black olives, the traditional “crucchi” and the “pamparito”, a local bread flavored with anise, all accompanied by the wine of local wineries. For the occasion, five taverns will be gara open: the Segrete del Alcazar Ruspoli, the Taberna Julianellum, the 1984 Cellar of the S. Biagio and S. Giacinta Celebration Committee, the Nuovi Angeli Custodi Cellar and the Maregnano Cellar, where it will be possible to taste the typical dishes of the local tradition. and reservations acceso the site:

Excellent companies from Tuscia Cimina will participate per the , such as Frantoio Cioccolini, active since 1963 per the production of high quality extra virgin olive oil; the Viticoltori dei Colli Cimini, which brings together 230 small producers of DOC and IGT wines; the Terreni Olivieri, which boasts a long winemaking tradition, and other realities such as Casamecocci, the Caseificio Tascolano and the Industria Agricola Parano, specialized per the production of organic cheeses, wines and hazelnuts, the Industria Agricola Soldini, specialized per the production of hazelnuts and chestnuts from the Cimini Mountains. During the two weekends of the , it will be possible to taste and purchase the food and wine delicacies of these companies at the tasting stands of the agri-food circuit. There will also be a craft market, where local artisans will display their creations.

As regards historical re-enactments, two key events will capture the attention: “The Birth of the County of Julianello”, which narrates the events linked to Ortensia Farnese, lady of Vignanello, and “The revolt of 1553”, which recounts the conspiracy and the murder of Ortensia Farnese’s last husband, followed by the trial of the Vignanellesi involved. Furthermore, the shops of the historic center will quanto alive with demonstrations of ancient crafts, offering visitors an immersive experience per history.

The program also includes numerous shows, including concerts per the square, traveling juggling shows and performances by the Flag Wavers and Musicians of Vignanello, with free entry.

Finally, the Tornaconto In loco of Vignanello paid special attention to campers, organizing the 13th edition of the “Memorial Francesco Annesi” rally. Various events will be offered including the urban trekking acceso Sunday morning and the simposio acceso Saturday at 4pm for the traditional welcome greeting.
