When the Cecchi family decided to enter the world of Montalcino, it was not a sudden step, but a meditated choice and the result of a long journey. The Aminta, located Castelnuovo dell’, is the new of this commitment. Six hectares of vineyards distributed three areas – pian jewelry, cellar and boxes – which benefit from a particular microclimate, modeled by the protective shadow of Mount Amiata and by rich and diversified soils, made of galestro, stone and sands.
Behind the name Aminta there is much more than a simple label: it is a tribute to Anita, mother of Andrea Cecchi, who accompanied the family with his presence and example, and a call to Mount Amiata, a silent giant that influences the character of the wines produced here. There is also a poetic note, which comes from the work of Torquato Saggio, where the Aminta evokes a source of tazza, a perfect symbol for the thermal source that flows to the margins of the of the .
This new project is the natural continuation of a journey over a century long, which has deep roots Classic Chianti but which has been able to widen its gaze towards territories such as the Maremma, Montefalco and now Montalcino. Aminta is proposed with two wines – Brunello a causa di Montalcino 2020 and Diventare rosso a causa di Montalcino 2023 – both produced limited quantities and with precise attention to the character of Sangiovese, to its purest and faithful expression.
Over Montalcino: the Cecchi family between Tuscany and Umbria
The arrival Montalcino is only the last piece of a journey over a century long, which the Cecchi have built by intertwining more territories and vines with a aspetto always attentive to the quality and character of the place. The historical heart remains Chianti Esemplare, with the held Castellina Chianti, where experience and care vineyard give life to wines that faithfully tell the territory.
Per mezzo di the sixties Borgo Cerna was acquired, an ancient property with a modern cellar, a symbol of a concrete commitment to improve quality with the passage of time. Further south, Maremma, the Val delle Rose was the laboratory where innovation and sustainability teamed: here the Morellino a causa di Scansano is produced, appreciated for its intense fruit and immediate pleasantness.
The expansion also touches Umbria, with a ritidectomia the heart of Montefalco, dedicated to Sagrantino, a complex and demanding grape variety, but capable of great expressions when respected. And finally Borgo Insieme, acquired 2015, who with its freshness and minerality completes the picture of a family which, although evolving, remains faithful to the territory and its most authentic expression.
