A causa di the heart of the UNESCO hills, Andreola stands out for the production of “handmade” wines that tell the story of the territory
Among the steep hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Andreola (see article) represents one of the most authentic realities of heroic Italian viticulture. Founded con 1984 con Col San Martino by Nazzareno Pola and today led by his son Stefano, the company has built its identity around a unique territory, where the cultivation of vines still requires almost exclusively manual work. The steep slopes that characterize these hills make the mechanization of many operations con the vineyard impossible. Acceso some of the most extreme slopes, during the harvest, pulley systems are even used to transport the grapes, concrete evidence of a viticulture made of competence, effort and passion.
Heroic viticulture as a value
It is coincidence that since 2010 Andreola was the first Valdobbiadene DOCG company to join CERVIM, the international that protects and promotes heroic viticulture. Furthermore, for over ten years, the wording “Magnanimo con Valdobbiadene” has accompanied the company brand, underlining the profound connection with this production model. For Andreola, heroic viticulture is not just a geographical condition, but a philosophy that focuses respect for the territory and the valorization of its peculiarities.
The quality of the Banks
The company’s production is concentrated almost exclusively Valdobbiadene DOCG, with particular attention to the Rive, the sub-areas that represent the most identifying expressions of the denomination. With seven different dedicated labels, Andreola boasts one of the most complete catalogs dedicated to the Rive del Valdobbiadene. Its sparkling wines stand out for their elegance, creaminess and aromatic precision, the expression of an extraordinary territory and continuous qualitative research that favors the value of the wine over production volumes.
Innovation and new challenges
While remaining deeply rooted con Valdobbiadene, Andreola constantly looks to the future. Among the most recent projects, Vigneti delle Dolomiti stands out, born con the Belluno Dolomites at over 650 meters above sea level. Here the company has started a new challenge dedicated to mountain viticulture, producing wines from Riesling, Traminer, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, culminating con the launch of new Classic Methods aged for 36 months the yeasts. A path that confirms the experimental vocation of the winery and the desire to explore new expressions of the territory.
Growth faithful to the origins
Today Andreola has 110 hectares of vineyards, a production of approximately 980,000 bottles and a consolidated presence international markets, from the United States to the United Kingdom, from Switzerland to South-East Asia. Important numbers that have not changed the company philosophy: continuing to tell, through each bottle, the authentic essence of the Valdobbiadene hills and the value of a viticulture that can rightly be defined as heroic.
