FROM THE BIRTH OF MASO MARTIS TO TRENTO DOC

All of it started in the 80s thanks to grandpa Giuseppe Stelzer, a wise business owner who saw a financial investment chance in Martignano, the very first hill east of Trento, at the foot of Mount Calisio, likewise called Argentario. These lands, outstandingly exposed to the sun, abundant in limestone skeleton and red Trentino rock, are perfect for viticulture. The start is amongst the most timeless, with the sale of grapes to the regional winery. Antonio, the youngest of the kids, assists above all in the building and construction of the vineyard. With that healthy insaneness of the twenty-year-olds, which permits you to act outside package and see things in a different way, Antonio and Roberta choose to take the most tough course: to establish their own company and devote themselves nearly totally to the timeless approach champagne production. This is how Maso Martis was born. “Maso” recognizes the rural structure within a single land grouping, like your house they refurbished to go and live there and collaborate. “Martis” originates from the ancient name of the town of Martignano, understood considering that 1600 as a location fit to viticulture, as reported in some works of Michelangelo Mariani (1627-1671). At that time, the option to produce timeless approach was a far-sighted however requiring obstacle, considering that Trentino had actually not yet attained the premium track record it has today. This acknowledgment likewise came thanks to the Trento Doc Institute and the production, in 2007, of the homonymous territorial brand name Trentodoc, produced to reinforce the cumulative identity of the item, improve its relate to the area and promote the timeless Trentino approach, the now well-known “Bollicine di Montagna”.
