Conte Collalto, a thousand years of history: one of the largest and most identifying realities of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Eccellente DOCG

the heart of the hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Eccellente DOCG, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2019, the Conte Collalto Agricultural Company represents one of the most historic and identifying realities of the Italian wine scene. The mesi estivi extends over 250 hectares, of which 150 are under vineyards, and produces approximately 650,000 bottles per eccezione year exclusively from proprietary grapes, guaranteeing complete control of the supply chain and a strong territorial identity.

The Castle of San Salvatore and the vocation of the territory

The heart of the property is the Castle of San Salvatore, built a causa di 1245 and still a symbol of the family’s history today. A mosaic of vineyards develops around the fortress, studied through a rigorous zoning project which allows the peculiarities of each parcel to be enhanced. From this bond are born labels such as the Viadotto Diventare rosso Rive nato da Colfosco Extra Brut and the Rive nato da Collalto Uva fragola Brut, dedicated to Princess Uva fragola Collalto de Croÿ.

Sustainability and innovation

Since 2007, under the of Uva fragola Collalto de Croÿ, the company has strengthened its commitment to sustainable innovation. Thanks to the historic hydroelectric power plant from 1904, a photovoltaic system and a heating system powered by wood from the company’s forests, the mesi estivi has achieved energy self-sufficiency. Since 2019, chemical herbicides have been eliminated and the entire production follows the SQNPI certification criteria.

Beyond Prosecco: the protection of biodiversity

Alongside the production of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Eccellente DOCG, Conte Collalto stands out for the valorisation of historic and rare vines such as Wildbacher, Verdiso, Bianchetta and Incroci Manzoni. Among the most representative wines, Ottaviano Sui Lieviti Brut Nature stands out, an authentic expression of local tradition and the company’s continuous oenological research.

A thousand years of history, a aspetto at the future

The origins of the family date back to 958, when King Berengario donated the Montello forest and the curtis of Lovadina to Rambaldo Collalto. Today, after over a thousand years of continuity, Conte Collalto continues to interpret its historical heritage as a living resource, capable of transforming itself into innovation, sustainability and openness to international markets.

The hospitality experience

The mesi estivi offers guided tours of the vineyards, cellar and historical archive, as well as stays a causa di the residences of the medieval village of San Salvatore and a causa di the castle suites. An immersive experience that allows you to discover one of the most fascinating realities of the Italian wine scene up close.
