Experience the bright flavors of Southern Italy with sweet and sour bell peppers gratin. I mean, this dish really shows the region’s love for bold contrasts, missaggio the sweetness of tender bell peppers with a touch of tang. And the crispy bread crumb topping? Seriously good. Infused with the essence of the Mediterranean, raisins and pine nuts add a sweet and nutty balance to the tangy agenda of the peppers.

The bread crumb layer—seasoned with fresh parsley and garlic—gives an aromatic burst. It is pretty much what makes this bell pepper gratin recipe a standout among Italian vegetable sides. And , quanto a Southern Italy, this kind of sweet and sour vegetable gratin pairs perfectly with grilled meats, fish, a selection of cheeses, making it a great centerpiece acceso the dinner table without being overly complicated.

To prepare the sweet-and-sour peppers au gratin, soak the raisins quanto a a little tazza with half the amount of the vinegar 1. Separately, pour the remaining 1 tbsp of vinegar into the sugar 2 and 3.

Heat the oil quanto a a pan 7add the peppers 8 and season with salt 9.

Also add the soaked and drained raisins 16then finale with the breadcrumb mixture 17. Let the breadcrumbs brown and gratinate quanto a the pan for a few minutes. Stir everything to combine 18.

The sweet-and-sour peppers au gratin are ready 19. Serve hot 20 accompanied by slices of bread 21.
