Tenuta Luce presents Luce Brunello 2019

TenutaLuce, an Ilcinese red wine business of the Marchesi Frescobaldi Group, provides Luce Brunello 2019, now readily available on global markets. Luce #Brunello is #TenutaLuce’s homage to the land of #Montalcino and its wine making custom. It is the #Sangiovese grapes from the Madonnino vineyard – suitable for direct exposure and structure of the soil – that completely reveal the best mix of structure and sophistication.

” Luce Brunello 2019 is the outcome of an extraordinary vintage. In the glass it provides an extreme ruby color. On the nose, extreme fragrant notes of red fruits, consisting of cherries in spirit, red plum and orange, which link with accents of tobacco and the sweet taste of liquorice”– these are the words of Alessandro Marini, Technical Director of the Estate Luce, and continues,– “The sip is an enveloping and dynamic experience, supported by completely ripe tannins that leave space, on the surface, for suggestive citrus notes. Without a doubt the power and energy it reveals guarantee excellent aging capacity.”

The cold, dry winter season of 2019 permitted healthy shoot development, which started in the very first week of April. The rainy spring, with temperature levels a little below par, produced substantial water reserves in the soil, decreasing the vegetative procedure of the plants.

Nevertheless, the arrival of the heat and the lack of rain throughout the month of June preferred the vegetative development, culminating in outstanding blooming in the 2nd week of the month. The summertime season continued without extreme heat peaks, thanks to some rainfall in between completion of July and the start of August, ensuring an energetic and effective foliar system.

The moderate temperature levels of September and the great level of hydration of the soil added to a sluggish and routine ripening of the grapes. This enabled us to get completely ripe tannins, defined by high strength and fragrant freshness.

The harvest started on October 1st in perfect weather conditions, with moderate temperature levels throughout the day and substantial temperature level variations throughout the night. The impressive quality of the grapes has actually enabled the production of a well balanced, structured Luce Brunello 2019, with an effective and completely incorporated tannic texture.

Light Estate

Tenuta Luce extends south-west of Montalcino, in the heart of the Val d’Orcia Natural Park: a rural landscape skillfully upgraded by guy, in the pre-Renaissance period, in the name of aesthetic appeals and stated in 2004 an Intangible Heritage of ‘Mankind from UNESCO. It remains in this remarkable land, traditionally understood for its high quality red wine, that the 249 hectares of the estate unfold, amongst big woody locations, olive groves and 92 hectares of vineyards, an undamaged environment, sparsely inhabited and abundant in biodiversity. The intense light, the fresh and aerated air due to the specific direct exposure, together with the range of soils and elevations, make Tenuta Luce a location of option, where the balance of all these aspects is maintained with extensive regard. A regard that continues into the cellar, where each action is performed with the utmost care, to boost that valuable consistency attained in the vineyard. From this viewpoint and unrepeatable terroir the white wines of Tenuta Luce are born: Luce, Lucente, Luce Brunello and Lux Vitis, in a virtuous job started in the early 90s with the goal of getting the optimum expression of Montalcino in an extremely distinct secret.
