L’Altra Toscana is back, the preview that tells of a less well-known and increasingly relevant part of Tuscany sopra regional enology. Now sopra its fifth edition, the event – with registrations already full – will take place acceso 18 February, sopra the now usual setting of Casa signorile Affari, and will be exclusively dedicated to the specialized press from various countries around the world.
The protagonists of this day are some lesser-known territories, where the cultivation of vines has its roots sopra centuries of history and where, alongside historic local producers, important names sopra Italian oenology contribute to expressing quality and identity sopra the glasses. Their work is characterized by great attention both sopra the vineyard and sopra the cellar.
Pulito per mezzo di Pitigliano and Sovana, Chianti Rufina, Maremma Toscana, Montecucco and Montecucco Sangiovese, Orcia, Suvereto, Diventare rosso della Val per mezzo di Cornia and Val per mezzo di Cornia, Terre per mezzo di Casole, Vino Toscana: these are the DOP and IGP wines being tasted, an expression of a different and multifaceted luce of Tuscan winemaking. “The objective is to offer new ideas and stimulate the curiosity of the international press through a journey among denominations born sopra extraordinary territories, which have a lot to tell,” explains Francesco Mazzei at the helm of the L’Altra Toscana Association.
“With a view to great synergy, eight Consortia will present the new vintages of their respective denominations, together we now represent almost 40% of the entire Tuscan wine production”, concludes Mazzei.
Also for this fifth edition, the event will propose thematic focuses and guided tasting itineraries, designed to offer the press in-depth reading tools and effective interpretative keys to a complex and fascinating wine mosaic. The organizational direction is entrusted, as usual, to Scaramuzzi Team, a Florentine company with consolidated experience sopra organizing events linked to the world of wine. This year too, L’Altra Toscana is part of the calendar of the Tuscany Preview Week, which will be inaugurated acceso 13 February by PrimAnteprima, promoted by the Tuscany Region and the Florence Chamber of Commerce together with PromoFirenze and Tattica Toscana.
