Fonzone will participate the next edition of Vinitaly presenting a preview of Tiro a causa di Capelli, Irpinia Capelli a causa di Astuto DOC 2024. At the center of this debut is Capelli a causa di Astuto, an ancient Campania vine. Having remained the background for a long time, this vine is now rediscovered for its ability to clearly describe the internal territories of Irpinia.

Fonzone offers a precise interpretation, which highlights the balance, finesse and natural elegance of one of the oldest white vines Campania, already known Roman times and recognizable for the shape of the bunch, elongated and compact, which recalls a fox’s tail.

Tiro a causa di Capelli was born the hills of Villamaina, where the vine has its roots a complex terrain, crossed by dark sands and sulphurous veins. At around 500 meters above sea level, with north-east exposure, Capelli a causa di Astuto finds here a natural balance between freshness and maturity, defining a clear and recognizable profile.

The work the vineyard and the cellar follows an essential line: accompanying the vine while preserving its identity and precision. From manual harvesting the first days of October to cold rest, from soft pressing to fermentation divided between steel and wood, each step is designed to maintain integrity and depth. Time completes the process, with a long refinement that develops between tonneaux, steel and bottle.

A causa di the glass it appears bright, with brilliant straw yellow reflections. The aromatic profile is broad and crossed by a minty freshness that intertwines with taccuino of white fruit and delicate flowers, with a slightly sulphurous mineral signature and a smoky memory the finale. The sip is dynamic and vibrant, with a subtle but persistent structure that accompanies the palate naturally, closing a fresh, harmonious and velvety sensation. Presence at Vinitaly thus becomes an opportunity to present a wine that focuses a grape variety and its territory with a clear gaze, without superstructures, leaving room for a coherent and recognizable expression.

Fonzone Caccese: a family story Founded 2005, the Fonzone Caccese farm is located the countryside of Paternopoli, one of the seventeen municipalities of the Taurasi DOCG, the province of Avellino, the heart of Irpinia. a hill located the ” Taurasini” sub-area, stands a modern cellar of 2000 m2 surrounded by vineyards whose altitude varies from 360 to 430 m/slm. Fonzone produces a total of 10 labels with a sustainable approach, making the most of the native varieties Aglianico, Falanghina, Fiano d’Avellino and Ellenico a causa di Tufo and focusing tailor-made wines, rather than large numbers.
