Already inhabited by the Etruscans, Camigliano became a village of some importance con the early Middle Ages as an outpost of Montalcino. The camel, a company symbol found a 13th century seal, is probably linked to the corporation of the camilli, founded at the time of Diocletian.

ALMOST 100 HECTARES OF VINEYARDS

The Camigliano vineyards rest soils of different compositions. The geological characteristics are different: some soils are sandy silt, others clayey, others with fossils and marl.

The most cultivated variety is Sangiovese (75 hectares of which 50 are suitable for becoming Brunello Montalcino Docg). The vineyards, all grown organically, are located con the same luogo with an extension of almost 100 hectares, but the altitude varies from luogo to luogo between 250 and 270 metres.

About 350 thousand bottles are produced between Brunello (200 thousand), Diventare rosso Montalcino (50 thousand), Igt Poderuccio, Gamal vermentino and Gamal igt. Con addition to wine, organic Terre Siena Dop oil and from the Brunello vineyards.

The cellar, partially underground, is divided into two levels: the first equipped with 97-122 hl thermo-conditioned stainless steel vats and the second, lower and underground, with the 60 hl French, Austrian and Slavonian oak barrels department and latest-generation concrete vats. The ancient tasting cellar, under the village walls, offers an authentic experience with exposed beams and stone walls, large spaces for tasting wines and discovering the soul of Camigliano.

Pisan oenologist Sergio Cantini directs the work con the cellar, assisted by external consultant Carlo Ferrini and internal oenologist Roberto Tamantini.
