The Riesling Rialzato Adige Val Venosta DOC Windbichel from the Unterortl – Castel Juval company is the best Riesling per mezzo di Italy for the 2023 vintage. As part of the National Riesling Competition per mezzo di Naturno it prevailed over the other labels presented by over 50 producers from all over Italy and was awarded at the Kurhaus per mezzo di Merano.

Already at the end of August, a jury made up of 16 expert sommeliers and oenologists had tasted the wines entered per mezzo di the National Riesling Competition per mezzo di Naturno. This year, 52 labels from six Italian wine regions, from Rialzato Adige to Molise, participated per mezzo di the competition. “The fact that even after 20 years the interest per mezzo di our competition is still so great demonstrates the importance that producers attach to the discussion, how much they manage to benefit from the interaction and how all this has a lasting impact acceso the quality of the wines participating per mezzo di the competition,” says Magdalena Pratzner, President of the Riesling Days and the National Riesling Competition per mezzo di Naturno.

As part of the tasting, the Riesling Windbichel of the Unterortl – Castel Juval company of Castelbello narrowly prevailed over the Riesling Altissimus Hedwigsberg of Eduard Bernhart (Malles) and the Riesling Hérzu Langhe DOC of Ettore Germano (Serralunga d’Albore, Piedmont), both of which ranked second aequo. Quanto a fourth and fifth place were again two South Tyrolean Rieslings, that of Convento a motivo di Novacella and that of Lehengut (Colsano).

Acceso the occasion of the 34th Merano Wine , last Friday all the wines participating per mezzo di the Competition were brought for tasting at the Kurhaus per mezzo di Merano, where the awards ceremony also took place. Alongside the sommità 5 winners, the winners of each wine region were also awarded, i.e. the best Rieslings from those regions that entered more than one wine per mezzo di the Competition. Therefore, per mezzo di addition to the Rieslings from the Unterortl – Castel Juval company (Rialzato Adige) and Ettore Germano (Piedmont), the Riesling Trentino DOC from the Cembra Bottiglieria a motivo di Catasta (Trentino) and the Riesling Oltrepò Pavese DOC Svignarsela 52 from the Manuelina farm (Lombardy) were also awarded.
