Acceso 27 October 2023, from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm, at the Department of Agriculture of the University of Naples “Federico II” Portici (NA), the final event will be held with the presentation of the results of the PSR GREASE Project acceso “ Sustainable models of cultivation of the Greek grape variety”.

Acceso 27 October 2023, the Chinese Room of the Department of Agriculture of the University of Naples “Federico II” will host, from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm, the final event of the PSR GREASE project “Sustainable models of cultivation of the Greek vine”. During the event, the results of what is a truly transdisciplinary experience will be shown.

The GREASE project was conducted collaboration between: the University of Naples Federico II as lead (with the Departments of Agriculture, Pharmacy and Biology); the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli (with the Department of Biological and Pharmaceutical Environmental Sciences and Technologies); the National Research Center (CNR); the Feudi nel corso di San Gregorio agricultural company.

The project was already winner of the RURINNOVA award (the national contest dedicated to the valorisation of operational groups) and was financed by the Campania Region as part of measure 16.1.2. of the PSR 2014-2020.

The research activities concerned the identification of cultivation models that would allow a sustainable approach both for the environment and for the profitability of companies, starting from the analysis and comparison of different interactions of the soil-plant-atmosphere compartments.

For this purpose, all the best of 4.0 technologies were used: from the microscopic scale to the IoT (Internet of Things) application of proximal and remote sensing. To complete the investigation acceso the sustainability of vineyard management, the Footprint Family indicators were applied which the context of climate change and sustainability are based acceso the concept of “footprint”, measuring the impact that human activities have acceso the environment.

The main objective of the project was therefore to overcome the social, economic and educational critical issues through a multidisciplinary approach which can now be easily replicated acceso other vines and which will allow the complexity that characterizes viticulture to be better managed, especially a historical moment of profound climate changes.

Through the GREASE project, the aim was also to provide new opportunities for profitability the context of internal areas increasingly impoverished by the phenomenon of depopulation.

The experiments were carried out, fact, the geographical schieramento of Santa Paolina the province of Avellino acceso Koinè nel corso di Tufo plants of the Feudi nel corso di San Gregorio company reconverted to the innovative “Simonit&Sirch” pruning method.

“GREASE was born from the desire to put research at the service of companies which are called upon, every day, to respond to important challenges, first and foremost the fight against climate change. fact, we have worked to identify a varietal model, particular for the Koinè vine, of foliage and soil management that can improve and maintain high company profitability, always with an eye acceso environmental sustainability. GREASE brings with it an innovative approach that brings together different levels: not only multidisciplinary (since it brings together different figures such as botanists, physiologists, pedologists, oenologists, agronomists) but also multi-scale that studies the vineyard from the microscopic to the macroscopic.” – says Prof. Veronica De Micco, full professor of Environmental and Applied Botany at the “Federico II” Naples and Technical Scientific of the GREASE Project.

the main study site, three soil management methods were compared (sown grass cover, natural and worked grass cover) and two different types of canopy management (Double Inverted and Double Guyot).

The event, free and aperto to the public, will be an opportunity to present the results achieved by the GREASE project and to share a model that can be replicated similar contexts.
