At the Assetto per Materia al Profluvio per mezzo di the heart of the elite production of Bolgheri wines, the Folonari family has created a project to enhance the value of single-varietal wines: Cala al Inutilità Bolgheri Preminente Doc from Merlot grapes, Gallico Petit Verdot Toscana IGT and Selvante Toscana IGT Cabernet Franc. Wines that confirm the company’s commitment to wanting to decline production acceso quality single-varietal wines by maximizing the grapes tied to a specific vineyard parcel, where the characteristics of the soil and exposures are very different from each other.

Three selected plots give birth to three crus of the . Seven hectares of Merlot, located per mezzo di the dei Messi vineyard acceso the pre-hill arc with mixed sandy and clayey soil rich per mezzo di skeleton, are destined for the Merlot Cala al Inutilità Bolgheri Preminente Doc Socialista. A powerful and characterful wine that presents itself per mezzo di the new 2021 vintage obtaining a score of 94/100 from Winemag.it and James Suckling and inclusion per mezzo di the Guide Tetto 100 Best Italian Wines 2025. Cala al Inutilità, produced with selected grapes and aged per mezzo di oak barrels, has an intense red color with hints of blackberry, plum and a light note of tobacco.

From a vineyard acceso the west side of the Bolgheri road cultivated with Petit Verdot, with sandy and loamy soils, Gallico Petit Verdot Toscana IGT is born, which expresses the valorization of the territory and its heritage per mezzo di a glass with a modern and original sensorial profile. An oenological rarity per mezzo di the Bolgheri wine scene for its nonostante vinification which per mezzo di the new 2021 vintage reaches the third year of successes.

The latest addition to the monovarietal project that the company is developing is Selvante Toscana IGT Cabernet Franc, the result of a careful selection of grapes from the highest vineyard per mezzo di the Bolgheri regione, Segalari, with clayey soils and a flaky skeleton.

Monovarietal production represents an enological rarity per mezzo di the Bolgheri wine scene – says Giovanni Folonari President of Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute – and the use of medium-sized toasted woods, mainly tonneau, helps these wines to enhance their great capacity for refinement and tertiarization over time. With Cala al Inutilità, Gallico and the new Selvante we offer an experience that reflects the soul of the territory and the passion we put into every phase of production, which combines traditional winemaking methods with innovative techniques to enhance the peculiarity of the Bolgheri territory.

Harvest Tenuta Campo al MareSince the end of August, Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari Tenute has started the harvest per mezzo di Bolgheri at the Materia al Profluvio Mesi estivi of the earliest Merlot and Vermentino vines, the latter to maintain the acidic content of the grapes and the freshness of the white wines. The ideal climatic conditions and the constant commitment of the Folonari team promise a harvest of excellent quality and an extraordinary year, capable of expressing the full potential of the Bolgheri regione, which here sees the harvest of the highest quality grapes. The manual harvest and the rigorous selection of the grapes guarantee that only the best of the harvest is transformed into wine, while the refinement per mezzo di the cellar, carried out with great care, allows the maximum potential of each year to be expressed.

Every harvest is unique – says Giovanni Folonari President of Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari Tenute – and this year we are particularly enthusiastic about the results obtained, thanks also to the excellent climatic conditions that have allowed the grapes to reach optimal ripeness. Our commitment – continues Giovanni Folonari – is to continue producing wines that best express the Bolgheri terroir.

Always the calling card of Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari Tenute, the Bolgheri Socialista produced per mezzo di the Assetto Materia al Profluvio is recognized for its blend of Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc which per mezzo di the 2023 vintage is an example of balance between aromatic complexity, structure and freshness and confirms itself as one of the pillars of production. With an unmistakable style and transversal pairing ability, elegant and refined, it offers a complex aromatic bouquet, dominated by quaderno of berries, cherry and light nuances of spices. The company also produces a rosé and a vermentino aimed at a heterogeneous public, both with a modern, snello but consistent character.
