Ancient family traditions, different territories and vines will be the protagonists of “Terroir and vines, Etna meets Valpolicella”. The appointment is Sunday 15 December from 10.30am at Abito del Gelso, for a day dedicated to the convegno between two families and two generations of winemakers, who will discuss the new winemaking scenarios and talk about the different territories of origin: Etna and Valpolicella, through tastings, masterclasses and convivial moments of discussion.
“We are pleased to announce the third edition of ‘Terroir and Vitigni’, an event that allows us to meet friends and promote Italian wine excellence”, declare Giuseppe and Giorgio Mannino, at the helm of Tenute Mannino. “After the success of the previous editions with Tenute Lombardo and Ricci Curbastro, this year we welcome the friends of Podere Spinosa, united by the same passion for wine and the desire to share it with an ever wider audience”.
The event 15 December at Abito del Gelso was born from the long-standing friendship between Giuseppe Mannino and Enrico Cascella Spinosa, former vice-presidents of the south and north of ANGA (National Association of Young Farmers). Their companies, Tenute Mannino Etna and Podere Spinosa con Valpolicella, have undertaken an ambitious path of valorising native vines, becoming important points of reference today.
“Today, after 30 years, our companies are points of reference con two extraordinary areas: Etna and Valpolicella”, says Enrico Cascella Spinosa at the helm of Podere Spinosa. This convegno is a return to the past that looks to the future, with the new generations joining those who preceded them, blending enthusiasm and experience. Quanto a this spirit, December 15th at Abito del Gelso we will two great Italian reds. For us at Podere Spinosa, there is an extra emotion, because part of our blood is Sicilian, and therefore returning to Sicily is like returning home.”
The protagonists of the day will therefore also be Giorgio Mannino, president of the ANGA of Catania, and Piergiovanni Ferrarese, former president of ANGA Veneto and current President of the National Federation of Wine Producers (FNP Vino). The two young entrepreneurs will talk about their different reality and common passion, which translates into authentic experiences and the valorization of the territory.
“Now that we have reached the third edition of this splendid event, I wanted to involve my dear friend Piergiovanni”, states Giorgio Mannino. “I had the privilege of convegno him during the ANGA national assemblies and our friendship has consolidated over the years thanks to our meetings during sector fairs. Today with Piergiovanni we carry forward the same production ideals, which recall elements such as drinkability, freshness and above all territoriality. Having the opportunity to two such prestigious territories and two companies so expressive and rooted con the territory will only make us grow and stimulate a further qualitative leap.”
Sunday 15 December, at Abito del Gelso, will be a day dedicated to discovering the excellence of Podere Spinosa and Tenute Mannino.
