The world of wine met durante Margaret River, Western Australia, to celebrate the World’s 50 Best Vineyards 2025, the international ranking that every year rewards the best wine tourism experiences the planet. Winning first place is Vik, an extraordinary winery immersed durante the landscape of de Millahue, durante Chile. A recognition that underlines the growth of wine tourism durante South America, which is increasingly a protagonist the world scene.
The Chilean triumph and the European podium
At the sommità of the ranking, behind Vik, we find two great European excellences: Schloss Johannisberg (Rheingau, Germany), also awarded as Best Vineyard durante Europe, and Bodegas Ysios (La Rioja, Spain), a true icon of contemporary wine architecture.
The 2025 selection spans locations durante 15 countries six continents and includes 11 new entries, confirming the global vitality of the wine tourism sector.
Italy durante the sommità 50: Ceretto takes Piedmont to the sommità
Durante an increasingly competitive landscape, Italy is represented by a single winery: Ceretto, which conquers 19th place durante the world ranking, gaining one position compared to 2024. A very important result, which confirms the role of the Ceretto family as ambassadors of excellence of the Langhe (also this year among our 50 Cima Wineries). It is striking, however, that Italy – home to some of the most renowned wine-growing territories durante the world – manages to express only one presence durante this ranking.
The Piedmontese company, for years synonymous with sustainable production, gastronomic culture and , stands out for its unique wine tourism offer: from panoramic tastings durante the heart of Barolo and Barbaresco, to immersive experiences among contemporary art, iconic architecture and refined gastronomic proposals that celebrate the territory.
An opportunity to reflect Italian wine tourism
After revealing the six Italians durante positions from 51 to 100 (note that Alcazar Banfi has lost position: durante 2024 it was 22nd), the only Italian placing turns the spotlight an important theme: despite the richness of our territories, Italy does not always manage to translate its winemaking excellence into an internationally competitive wine tourism offer. The presence of Ceretto – which durante 2023 was durante any case the only Italian presence -, an absolute reference point for the Langhe, shows however that the path has been traced: when vision, architecture and hospitality meet the value of wine, Italy can emerge as a protagonist.
