Unveiled the Masterclass of the 4th edition of Vini d’Abtedizia

From 6 to 8 June 2025, the enchanting abbey of Fossanova, per Priverno (LT), will welcome the fourth edition of Della Abbey wines, the event that celebrates the monastic wine tradition through history, culture and tastings of excellence. The event confirms the success format which, per the previous edition, involved more than 4,000 visitors, and will see the participation of over 30 cellars of Italian and international abbeys, secular producers linked to monastic places and consortia. Three days of masterclass, cultural meetings and conferences will animate the abbey, with the tasting desks set up per the suggestive cloister and the Slow Food Village, where it will be possible to discover and taste the gastronomic excellence of the territory. Per the refectory of the abbey, one of the most suggestive places of the Cistercian monastic complex, the cycle of masterclass distributed over the three days of the event will take shape: six meetings designed to deepen the link between wine, culture and territory, led by exceptional speakers from the world of enology and dissemination. Among the key themes, the focolaio acceso Cesanese, the kingdom of bubbles, the vines already known per Roman times, the amphora wines, wine tourism and female vision per the Italian wine scene.

Friday 6 June: Cesanese, Soul of Lazio with Andrea Amadei. Author bubbles with Chiara Gioria. Following, at 20.00, “The joy of the bubbles”, edited by Chiara Giovoni – journalist, author and ambassadour du Champagne for Italy. A journey through different terroir, narrated by eight labels of great character that express the essence of different places and methods of winemaking, from the champagne to the upper Langa, passing through bubbles born per abbeys and monasteries, up to the classic Italian method. The protagonists of the tasting will be the cellars: Abbey of Novacella, Abbey of Praglia, Beppe Del mare, Champagne Monial, Cincinnato, Domaine de l’Abbaye du Petit Quincy – Domaine Trechier, Marco Carpineti and the monastery of Saints Gervasio and Protasio together with La Vite per Sarah.

Saturday 7 June: the legacy of the Romans with Cristina Mercuri. The rebirth of the amphora with Helmuth Köcher and Simona Geri.Fore 6.00 pm, the Masterclass “The wine of the Romans, the nectar of history” will bring the public back 2000 years, thanks to the dialogue between Cristina Mercuri – Dipwset, Wine Educatr, Wine Programma redattore Forbes and candidate Master of Wine – and Federica Colaiacomo, archaeologist and archaeologist. of the Lavinium Museum. A narrative that intertwines ancient history and modern viticulture, to discover vines already known per Roman times. Sunday 8 June: the Italy of wine between wine tourism, with Fabio Sironi and Chiara Giorleo, and female vision with Manuela Zennaro. 18.00 at 6.00 pm, “Il Travel”, a masterclass dedicated to the wine tourism and the beauty of the Italian life landscapes. To guide her Chiara Giorleo – food and wine criticism and panel head for Italy of the World’s Best Vineyards competition – together with Fabio Sironi, -in -chief of the magazine where and expert narrator of places. An itinerary between vineyards, architecture and spirituality, told through eight wines and places that express them: from Umbria with Arnaldo Caprai and San Masseo of the Fraternity of Bose, to Tuscany with Abbazia to Passignano of Marches Antinori and the abbey of Oliveto ; from the Langhe with del Monastery of Giuseppe Viscoso, to the Franciacorta with the convent of the Annunciata Wine Retreat of Bellavista; From Friuli Venezia Giulia with the Abbey of Rosazzo per Livio Felluga, up to the Venice Lagoon with San Francesco della Vite per Santa Margherita. He closes the review, at 20.00, “Emotions of women, emotions of wine”, a masterclass dedicated to talent and female vision per the Italian wine scene. Manuela Zennaro, journalist of La Repubblica and regional dirigente of the Le Women of Wine Association will lead the . The labels signed by Abbey of Busco, Bottiglieria Casa Gianna, Donato Giangirolami, Giovanni Terenzi, La Matina, Monastery of Vitorchiano, Petrucca and Vela and Pileum: eight stories of passion, identity and entrepreneurship for women.

Wine from Abbey: stories of wine from the heart of Laziovini D’Abtedizia is a journey to discover the millennial bond between wine, spirituality and territory. The protagonists of the event are some of the most important Italian wineries, secular producers linked to monastic places and the French Les Vins d’Ababayes. Designed by the journalist Rocco Tolfa, the event is promoted by the wine road of the province of Latina, the Taste Roots cooperative and the Polygonal Association, with the contribution of the Lazio and Arsial Region. The event takes place per collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce Frosinone Latina, the special company Informa, the Municipality of Priverno, the Regional Directorate of Museums Lazio, beyond Rome Wine Tour, Slow Food Lazio and the National Association Le Women of Wine. He receives the support of BCC Roma, Confagricoltura and Polsinelli, while the technical partners are the Italian Sommelier Association, Semenzaio Increases, Acque Filette, Sabaudia & Spa 4*, the San Francesco Charming Sabaudia 4*, Fiaschetteria Persei, Bodema and Ponza & surroundings. Mass-media official partners of the event are Rai Radio 2 and Vinum. Wine from Abbey takes place per Fossanova, a hamlet of Priverno, a few kilometers from the Circeo National Park, of the coastal brackish lakes and the beaches of Sabaudia. A territory rich per biodiversity that houses ancient villages and millennial testimonies. The result of the synergy between institutions, companies and consortia, the initiative aims to promote the territory, strengthening the identity of Lazio as an winery destination of excellence.
