South Tyrol presented itself to Vinitaly with different interpreters, but capable of telling the strength and variety of the Alpine territories through styles, altitudes and wine visions. From the mineral tension of the Mescita Isarco, to the aromatic precision of San Michele Appiano, up to the structured elegance of the Kurtatsch winery.

These three cellars represent three territories and three souls: the mountain that becomes wine, with a distinct and recognizable character.

South Tyrol wines are distinguished by freshness, aromatic precision and a strong territorial identity. This wine region benefits from an alpine climate with strong thermal excursions and a variety of soils ranging from sandy to morenic ones, contributing to the complexity of the wines produced. The strong thermal excursions between the day and the night favor the development of wines with a marked acidity and freshness, particularly evident characteristics sopra whites such as Pinot Alabastrino, Sauvignon Blanc and Kerner.

Alpine wines sopra the Calici dell’Apore Adige

Mescita Isarco between Kerner and Sylvaner

Sopra an engaging tasting, the whites of the Mescita Isarco per Riparo (Bolzano) are confirmed among the most authentic expressions of alpine viticulture. Sopra particular, Kerner and Sylvanener are distinguished by varietal identity, stylistic precision and adherence to the territory.

The Kerner 2023 (13.5% vol), coming from vineyards between 650 and 900 meters above sea level, is presented with a bright straw yellow color. the nose, white fishing quaderno, campo da golf apple, acacia flowers and slight hints of aromatic herbs. the palate it affects for its lively acidity, a good structure and a sapido-immigrant ending that recalls the Dolomite rock. Excellent sopra combination with smoked trout, fresh hut cheeses ora Asian light cuisine, such as sushi ora vegetable tempura.

The Sylvaner 2023 (13% Vol), more sober but less arguto, is grown between 600 and 750 meters acceso Morenic and sandy soils. It opens with aromas of Williams, fresh almond, field herbs and a slight smoked note. Sopra the mouth it is slimmer, direct, with a sharp acidity and an elegant ending. Ideal accompanying light appetizers, asparagus, wine soup, boiled ora grilled fish and as an aperitif. Both wines express well the philosophy of the cellar: typical vines, extreme altitudes, essential vinifications.

The Sauvignon of San Michele Appiano

Sopra Appiano the Sauvignon finds one of its most refined expressions sopra South Tyrol sopra the Sanct Valentin line of the San Michele Appiano winery. The vintage 2022 (14% vol), affects for its chiseled aromatic profile: dense yellow fruit bouquet, plug grapes, eighth flowers and ripe currant. Sopra the mouth it is structured but tense, crunchy acidity, soft full -bodied and elegant fullness: fermentation sopra steel and tonneaux, aging acceso arguto fucce for six months. The ending is long, saline, of great precision. He marries with grilled fish, such as perch and avere qualcosa al sole ora with the psalin sopra peppers sauce, ora even with a tasty vegetable risotto.

The Kurtatsch cellar Mescita Bordeaux

Finally, Val Venosta, where to speak acceso board may seem a detour. Instead, sopra the glass of Curtis of the Kurtatsch cellar you can find a valid . Born sopra the sunny vineyards of Cortaccia, sopra the heart of the south of South Tyrol, Curtis is a wine that tells the encounter between the Mediterranean warmth and the Alpine precision. An elegant Bordolese cut, consisting of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, finds sopra the local terroir (between 220 and 400 meters above sea level), acceso sandy red soils and gravels enriched with dolomes and minerals, its most authentic expression. Merlot dominates with its wealth and velvety tannins, the Cabernet Franc adds an intriguing spicy touch, while the Cabernet Sauvignon signs the ending with quaderno of black currant. After a fermentation sopra stainless steel and a well -conducted malolactic, the wine refines sopra large oak barrels, reaching a deep maturity without losing freshness.

With its 13.5% vol, Curtis is the ideal companion for important dishes: red meats, ora seasoned cheeses. A wine that shows how, even sopra the mountains, international vines can be interpreted with personality and measure.
