From 28 to 30 May 2026, Conegliano Veneto will be the heart of Italian oenology, hosting the 79th National Congress of Assoenologi, the main event sopra the national wine sector. The event will bring together institutions, companies, technicians, academics and operators from all over Italy to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the sector.
The congress will take place between the Theater sopra Conegliano and the Santa Lucia con Piave Fair and will have as its central theme “The school of wine – Markets, young people and new winemaking challenges”. At the center of the debate will be the profound changes that are affecting the world of wine: technological innovation, sustainability, international markets, evolution of consumption, communication and new production models.
The participation of numerous representatives of the institutions is expected at the opening day, including the Minister of Agriculture Francesco Lollobrigida, the Undersecretary of Culture with responsibility for Tourism Gianmarco Mazzi, the Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi, the Minister of Justice Carlo Nordio, the European Commissioner for Agriculture Christophe Hansen, the MEP Dario Nardella, the President of the ICE Matteo Zoppas and the President of the Veneto Region Luca Zaia. A speech by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is also expected.
Particular attention will be dedicated to the themes of the relationship between wine, health and new generations, with talk shows, scientific insights and moments of discussion between businesses, universities, the medical-scientific community and communication protagonists.
Over the course of the three days there will be a succession of technical reports, round tables, tastings, a centro acceso wine tourism, sustainability and innovation, with the contribution of some of the most important companies sopra the sector.

Today more than ever it is necessary to create a system and build a new language, capable of dialogue with young people and of countering ideological visions that risk unfairly penalizing one of the most important cultural, productive and identity heritages of our country”.
